What is sintered parts
Sintered parts refer to parts formed after high-temperature sintering, usually processed from solid metal powder or metal alloy powder. The manufacturing process of sintered parts includes three steps: powder preparation, molding, and sintering.
Ⅱ The operation process of sintering process
1. Powder preparation
The preparation process of sintered parts generally uses metal powder as the raw material. The process of preparing metal powder involves crushing metal blocks or bars into fine powder particles. This process requires operations such as screening and washing to obtain the required particle size and density.
2. Forming
After sieving, washing, drying and other operations, the powder needs to be formed. The commonly used molding methods include dry compression molding, injection molding, plasma molding, etc. After molding, it is necessary to dry again to ensure complete evaporation of moisture.
3. Sintering
The formed and dried products need to be sintered, that is, placed in a sintering furnace for high-temperature sintering. During this process, metal powders will bond with each other and increase density, forming a solid sintered part. The sintering temperature, time, and atmosphere control all have an impact on the quality of the parts.
Ⅲ  Advantages and disadvantages of sintering process
1. Advantages:
-Can create complex shapes
-High product density and good mechanical properties
-Sintered parts of the same material have lower costs compared to traditional mechanical processing in large production batches
-Save raw materials and be environmentally friendly
2. Disadvantages:
-Sintered parts undergo high-temperature sintering process, resulting in high manufacturing costs
-The dimensional accuracy of sintered parts is poor, and the surface roughness is high
-Processing at high temperatures requires special sintering equipment that can withstand high temperatures
-There are certain requirements for metal materials and manufacturing technology, which may not be applicable to the manufacturing of certain special material parts
Ⅳ Scope of application of sintering process 
The sintering process is suitable for manufacturing large quantities, low-cost, small-sized parts, and parts with high strength and density requirements, such as various transmission components such as bearings and gears, as well as industrial equipment parts such as automobiles and machine tools.
